How to set up IPTV — in under five minutes

After checkout you get an email with your credentials and an M3U URL. Pick your device below for a step-by-step guide. No computer, no extra hardware, no installer visit.

The short version

Three steps, whatever you watch on

1. Check your email

Within minutes of checkout you receive a username, password and M3U URL. That email is the only thing you need — there is no hardware and no installer visit.

2. Paste the M3U URL

Install a player on your device, choose Add playlist, then M3U URL, and paste the link exactly as it appears — including the http:// prefix and any port number.

3. Let the guide load

The channel list appears immediately; the EPG takes about a minute to download. Once it fills in, you have a full TV guide with catch-up on supported channels.

Before you start

What internet speed do you need?

These are per simultaneous stream. If three people watch different channels at once, multiply by three. Run a speed test on the device itself rather than your phone — a Fire TV Stick on the far side of the house sees a very different number.

For live sport, a wired Ethernet connection removes more stutter than any app setting. An adapter for a Fire TV Stick costs about $15.

Troubleshooting

If something isn't working

Five problems account for almost every support ticket, and four of them are fixed in under a minute.

Stream buffers during live sport

+

Switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet before changing anything else, then raise the buffer size in your player's settings. Wi-Fi congestion at kickoff is the most common cause, not the stream itself.

Channels load but the guide is empty

+

Give the EPG five minutes to finish downloading — the file is large. If it is still blank, remove the playlist and re-add it so the player re-fetches the guide.

"Invalid URL" or the playlist won't load

+

Re-copy the M3U URL from the email rather than retyping it. Missing the http:// prefix or dropping the port number after the domain accounts for most failures.

App won't install on a Fire TV Stick

+

Install unknown apps must be enabled for Downloader specifically, not just globally. Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, then Install unknown apps.

Picture is soft or not 4K

+

No service can output higher quality than the source broadcast. Confirm the channel is a 4K feed, then check your player's decoder is set to Hardware rather than Software.

All questions

Where do I find my M3U URL?

+

Your M3U URL is in the welcome email sent within minutes of purchase, next to your username and password. Copy it exactly, including the http:// prefix and any port number, then paste it into your player under Add playlist, then M3U URL.

How long does IPTV setup take?

+

Between two and four minutes on most devices. Samsung, LG, Android and iOS install a player from their own app store, so there is nothing to sideload. A Fire TV Stick takes slightly longer because Amazon requires you to enable unknown apps first.

Do I need a computer to set up IPTV?

+

No. Every guide here is completed entirely on the device you plan to watch on, using its own remote or touchscreen. There is no PC step, no cable and no file transfer involved.

Can I record IPTV?

+

Recording depends on your player rather than the subscription. Players such as IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate include a record button on the playback screen and save to local storage or a connected USB drive. Check free space before recording a long event.

What internet speed do I need?

+

About 10 Mbps is comfortable for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K on a single stream, multiplied by the number of screens you run at once. A wired connection makes a bigger difference during live sport than any setting inside the app.
